other successful alternative rock bands such as U2 and Radiohead.
The band has come under attack from certain quarters of the UK's
music community. Whether it is fueled by jealously or a real disdain
for the work is debatable. The band are keen activists and support
Amnesty International. They have also turned down major commercial
offers to use their music to advertise multinational products.
