Short Bio: Oasis were the leaders of the supposed 'Britpop' independent music scene of the nineteen nineties. The band themselves would probably want to distance themselves from the term however, noting it was largely a media and music industry invention. Likewise their rivalry with Blur, enabled both band to increase record sales. In terms of record sales, attendance figures and demand for concert tickets, Oasis were undoubtable the most successful band in the UK from the mid nineties to the mid noughties. Their first two albums, Definitely Maybe and What's the Story) Morning Glory?, were released in 1994 and 1995 respectively. Both received widespread acclaim, and are usually rated by fans and critics as the bands best work. The band has subsequently inspired the work of many British bands. Due to internal conflicts over the years, the band was never capable of replicating their UK success in the US. But they still remain one of the top rock bands to emanate from the UK.

Songs: Champagne Supernova, Whatever, Wonderwall, Supersonic, Don't Look Back in Anger.
