Short Bio: A pioneer at the inception of Rock and Roll,
Buddy Holly's influence for the artists that followed him was nothing
but immense. Remarkable his fame only lasted for a couple of years,
before he tragically died in a plane crash with Ritchie Valens and
The Big Bopper. Buddy Holly was a singer, guitarist and songwriter,
and often sang with a pronounced hiccup in his vocal technique.
Holly's band also set a template which would be used by rock and
roll bands to the present day, two guitars, one bass guitar and
one set of drums. The most famous band to cite the essential influence
of Buddy Holly in their own work was the Beatles.
